$94.95 1860-1880s Antique Victorian Composite EAPG Frosted Font and Hand Painted Opaque Glass Stem Kerosene Oil Lamp With Solid Brass Reid's Perfect Burner and Scovill Wheel - Item #387
This is a very old 1860-1880s Composite Oil Lamp. It features an opaque glass stem with a hand painted white/yellow flower and foliage. All the connectors are solid brass. It comes with the solid brass Reid's Perfect Burner, which is marked. The wick wheel is marked "Scovill Mfg. Co. USA". The EAPG frosted font is etched with star and another decoration. The etching work is not the best that we have seen, but for the age it may be appropriate. There are little air bubbles in the font and scratches on the frosting. It has a black cast iron stepped up base. The base is marked inside with "PAT'D APPD FOR". We have left the base as found, which means there is a little paint loss and rust where the paint is off. We left the base as is so as not to effect the value. There has been some repair work on the connector between the font and the stem. There is one small dent on the brass burner edge which does not effect its usefulness. Please click on the picture to see numerous other pictures of this lamp. For its age of 130-150 years old, we think it is in great usable condition. Please choose a shipping method that includes insurance. It is very stately and tall oil lamp. Perfect for the Victorian decor.
SOLD $49.95 1910-1930s EAPG or Uranium Kerosene Oil Lamp - Item #463
This is an unusual and very pretty EAPG or Uranium Glass 2 Part Mold Kerosene Oil Lamp. There are no maker's marks on this lamp. We believe this is an early 1900s lamp possibly depression era. It has a glass collar with metal threads built in dating it to 1910 or after. It is quite tall. It measures 10" tall, without the 10" tall clear chimney. It is 6 1/2" wide at the base. It has numerous large air bubbles in the glass. One air bubble is about 1/2" in diameter. It really adds character to this lamp. We did a black light test on it to check for EAPG, the glass font did fluoresce green when the black light was angled across the surface of the font. Since it did fluoresce green, it would either be EAPG and could date the piece 1916 or earlier or it could have Uranium in the glass and could be from the 1930s.
The lamp comes with a new brass plated #2 burner, new 3/4" flat wick, and new 10" chimney. All it needs is lamp oil and it is ready to go. It looks great with colored lamp oil. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The air bubbles already stated are part of the manufacturing process. Please choose a shipping method that includes insurance at checkout. We love using oil lamps in place of candles to give a warm safe glow throughout the room in the evenings. It is also great for those power outage times. Circa: 1910-1930.
