THE VICTORIAN NEEDLEPOINT PILLOW SHOP

We specialize in vintage and antique needlepoint for which the history is unknown in most cases.  Some of the needlepoints may have come from benches, chairs or former pillows. Most of these needlepoints are out of wool yarn. Those that were former pillows were hand soaked, rinsed and block dried and are being sold as they were found but with new interior feather pillows.   Most needlepoint items we have reinvented into lovely feather filled pillows.  Each vintage or antique needlepoint was gently hand soaked, rinsed several times and then hand blocked to dry.  We have coordinated new fabrics and trims to each unique vintage or antique needlepoint and then made or purchased separate feather and down filled or feather pillows to put in them.  All needlepoint pillows come with zippers for ease of care.

All vintage and antique needlepoints should have their inner feather pillow removed prior to washing.  Hand wash needlepoints in a mild soap like Woolite and rinse gently several times and block flat to dry.

These are one of a kind vintage and antique needlepoints. They make lovely heirlooms to be pasted down from generation to generation.

$199.95 Vintage Needlepoint Silk Pillow of an Elderly Gentleman - Item#571

This is a 16" x 18" Vintage Needlepoint of an Elderly Gentleman with his pipe. The gentleman's pipe and vest have rhinestone embellishments on them. We do not know if the embellishments are original to the needlepoint.  Victorian woman did put beads in to their needlepoints.  So it is hard to tell.  The Needlepoint is framed and backed on a gorgeous pleated sage colored silk.  It is edged around with a multicolored tassel trim in golds, sages and deep rose.  There is a hidden zipper in the back.  The inside of the pillow is lined with a cotton backing to protect the needlepoint and the silk.  It has an inner feather pillow.  It truly is a gorgeous pillow.  Please click on the picture to see additional pictures of the front and back of this pillow.  It would be wonderful in a library, office or den.

$249.95 Antique Tapestry Pillow of a Courting Couple in the Gardens of the Palace of Versailles, France - Item#235

This is a 18" x 18" large antique Victorian tapestry of a courting couple on the gardens of the Palace of Versailles that was made into a gorgeous  pillow.  The french scene is a romantic one of a couple among the gardens of Versailles. The background color is a muted mustard and sage color.  The other color that came through after several gentle soakings was a light lavender. 

This tapestry was found in an old trunk in the attic of an estate.  It was found amongst items dating from the 1800s.  We are pretty sure that this tapestry also dates to that period in time.  We have trimmed the pillow in a gold fringe that matches beautifully with this aged piece. The pillow back is backed in a washable suede fabric in cream with a zipper closure to ease in hand washing the item.  The interior has a nice feather and down pillow. We actually had to very gently soak this tapestry several times for the true colors to show through.

There is one 1/4" spot were there is some frayed threads.  We did not repair this spot since we thought it better left alone. You will have to look very close and hard to find it. We did repair one 1" wide weak spot in the top center, but you can not see the repair.   Actually is in excellent condition for its age. Truly as gorgeous pillow and is our favorite.

This is a 21 1/2" x 22" large vintage needlepoint that was made into a needlepoint pillow.  It has lovely pink roses with cream floral flowers surrounding it.  The background is black trimmed with rose trim and tassels.  The pillow back is black velvet with a zipper closure to ease in hand washing the item.  The interior has a nice feather and down pillow.

This vintage needlepoint was hand washed and blocked flat to dry.  There was one small repair made to the needlepoint, where the wool needlepoint was missing in a line of approximately 10 stitches.  The yarn was matched up as closely as possible and needlepointed back in. Truly as gorgeous pillow and one of our favorites.

This is a 15"x18" antique Victorian needlepoint that was made into a needlepoint pillow.  It has lovely orange roses with cream scroll work surrounding the roses with diamond blocks in the center. The background is deep wine/brown color and the pillow is trimmed with beautiful gold fringe. The pillow is backed with a washable suede fabric in cream with a zipper closure to ease in hand washing the item.  The interior has a nice feather and down pillow.

This vintage needlepoint was hand washed and blocked flat to dry.  There is one small spot about 5 stitches that is missing yarn, which we felt should be left alone. It is not noticeable unless you look closely for it. This is a very old needlepoint and the fabric it was needlepointed on is very old. It is truly a beauty.

This is a 16"x16" antique Victorian needlepoint that was made into a needlepoint pillow.  It has lovely orange and yellow roses surrounding by a other floral flowers. The background is burgundy color and the pillow is trimmed with beautiful gold fringe. The pillow is backed with a washable suede fabric in cream with a zipper closure to ease in hand washing the item.  The interior has a nice feather and down pillow.

This vintage needlepoint was hand washed and blocked flat to dry. There was one 1" repair made to the canvas and needlepoint on the lower bottom left side.  You would have to get very close to see it. This is a very old needlepoint and the fabric it was needlepointed on is very old. Another beauty.

The background is green color and the pillow is trimmed with beautiful red, green and beige trim and tassels that coordinate beautifully. This is a 15 1/2"x11 1/2" vintage needlepoint that was made into a needlepoint pillow.  It has lovely pink rose with yellow flowers with orange centers and green leaves.  It is surrounded by gold scroll work.  The background is a sage green color.  The pillow is trimmed with pink, cream, green fringe that coordinates great. The pillow is backed with a cream washable suede fabric with a zipper closure to ease in hand washing the item.  The interior has a nice feather and down pillow.

This vintage needlepoint was hand washed and blocked flat to dry. This needlepoint is in great condition.  I found just one stitch that the needlepointer missed when she or he needlepointed the canvas. We do not know the age of this needlepoint, but it is vintage.  This is a favorite.

$124.95 Vintage Pink Roses on Cream with Pink Border with Beading Needlepoint Pillow - Item #236

This is a gorgeous 13 1/2"x13 1/2" vintage needlepoint pillow with large pink roses done in different shades with green foliage and a cream background.  The pink border is wonderful with purple and silver shaped diamonds and little pearls or white beads in the center of the diamonds.  Truly a lovely needlepoint and wonderfully executed.  The fringed trim coordinates beautifully with its soft pink, cream, and light green colors.  The back of the pillow is washable suede with a zipper closure. We have made a feather and down pillow for the inside.

This vintage needlepoint was hand washed and blocked flat to dry. This needlepoint is in excellent condition with a very strong and sturdy canvas.  We do not know the date of this needlepoint.  This pillow would look great in a pink/cream/white shabby cottage decor or in a little girls room or even a nursery. Absolutely lovely.

This is a 12"x12" vintage needlepoint that was made into a needlepoint pillow.  It has lovely purple and wine colored violets surrounded by pale green leaves. The background is a blue/aqua and the pillow is trimmed with gorgeous aqua trim and tassels. The pillow is backed with a black velvet with a zipper closure to ease in hand washing the item.  The interior has a nice feather and down pillow.

This is a 16 1/2"x14 1/2" vintage needlepoint that was made into a needlepoint pillow.  It has cute pink roses with yellow and blue flowers on a blue background. The pillow is trimmed in deep rose trim to coordinate with the pink roses. The pillow is backed with a washable cream suede with a zipper closure to ease in hand washing the item.  The interior has a nice overstuffed feather and down pillow.

$74.95 Vintage Two Blue Birds on Cream with Sage Border Needlepoint and Petit Point Pillow - Item #233

This is a 16"x15" vintage needlepoint pillow that has petit point blue birds.  The rest of the pillow is needlepoint.  It has a cream/taupe background with darker taupe colored border and sage green design.  It was a needlepoint pillow when we found it.  The pillow is backed in a dark green velvet with dark green piping.  There is a zipper closure on this needlepoint pillow. We have made a feather pillow for the inside.

This vintage needlepoint was hand washed and blocked flat to dry. This needlepoint is in great condition. The original needlepointer happened to needlepoint some stray dark green lints into the cream section. If you look closely, you may spot the three very small spots on the picture.  We have a matching pillow, which is item #234.  The background color is a slight shade different.  We do not know the age of this needlepoint, but it is vintage.  Petit Point is very intricate and tiny work. A nice needlepoint pillow.

This is a 16"x15" vintage needlepoint pillow that has a petit point bird on it.  The rest of the pillow is needlepoint.  It has a cream background with taupe colored border and sage green design.  It was a needlepoint pillow when we found it.  The pillow is backed in a dark green velvet with dark green piping.  There is a zipper closure on this needlepoint pillow. We have made a feather pillow for the inside.

This needlepoint is in great condition.   We have a matching pillow, which is item #233.  The background color is a slight shade different.  We do not know the age of this needlepoint, but it is vintage.  Petit Point is very intricate and tiny work. A nice needlepoint pillow.
