$34.95 Antique Victorian 1887-1900 C. Tielsch & Company Heart Shaped Bowl Wall Plate with Elegant Gold Scrolled Rococo Border from Silesia, Germany - Item #522
This is a very beautiful and unusual Victorian 1887-1900 C. Tielsch & Company Heart Shaped Bowl Wall Plate with Elegant Gold Scrolled Rococo Border from Silesia, Germany. Pictures do not do this beauty justice. It features a floral spray in the colors of pink, yellow, blue, orange and green. We recognize larkspur as one of the flowers. It has a beautiful elaborate gold scrolled rococo border and crested top. It looks like it served two purposes in its day due to its shape. One would be for a serving bowl, the other for hanging on the wall for display. The bowl measures 11 3/4" x 10 3/4" x 1 3/4". It is signed with a green C. Tielsch & Co. mark which dates it from 1887 to 1900. It also has a red mark which reads "10104" and then "40". Please click on the picture to see additional pictures of the plate bowl.
The front of the bowl is in great shape. There is one small chip on the underside of the lip. Unfortunately, the bottom foot has had a lot of wear. There are numerous chips out of the foot. When we obtained this bowl, it had been used hanging on the wall because a wall hanger was attached to it. Please choose a shipping method that includes insurance at checkout. It would be a beautiful piece to hang on the wall at the top of a combination of old wall plates. This may have been the original intention of this plate since the shape and crest fit perfectly for it.
